Lance Corporal

To be promoted to Lance Corporal:
  • participate in the first year of the star training program for a minimum period of 5 months; and
  • be recommended by the appropriate platoon commander.

Corporal

To be promoted to Corporal:
  • hold the rank of LCpl;
  • participate in the Cadet Fitness Assessment;
  • successfully complete year 1 of the start training program; and
  • be recommended by the appropriate platoon commander.

Master Corporal

To be promoted to Master Corporal:
  • complete at least 6 months of service at the rank of Cpl;
  • participate in the Cadet Fitness Assessment;
  • successfully complete the second year of the start training program; and
  • be recommended by the appropriate platoon commander.

Sergeant

To be promoted to Sergeant:
  • complete at least 6 months service at the rank of MCpl;
  • participate in the Cadet Fitness Assessment;
  • successfully complete the third year of the star training program; and
  • be recommended by the appropriate platoon commander.

Warrant Officer

To be promoted to Warrant Officer:
  • complete at least 6 months service at the rank of Sgt;
  • participate in the Cadet Fitness Assessment;
  • have successfully completed the fourth year of the star training program;
  • have achieved enhanced proficiency in most subject areas including leadership and instructional techniques; and
  • be recommended by the appropriate platoon commander.

​Master Warrant Officer

To be promoted to Master Warrant Officer:
  • complete at least 6 months service at the substantive rank of WO;
  • participate in the Cadet Fitness Assessment; and
  • be identified as a successful candidate through the merit review board process.

Chief Warrant Officer

To be promoted to Chief Warrant Officer:
  • complete at least 6 months service at the substantive rank of MWO; and
  • be identified as a successful candidate through the merit review board process.
